California Real Estate

I’ve held a California real estate license since 1988 and a broker’s license since 2018 (DRE #01009857). Over those years I bought, sold, remodeled and built homes across Los Angeles. My work has included new construction and fix-and-flip projects.

I co-founded True West Realty, which I ran with my partners from 1996 to 2000, and Sandy Garcia Realty, from 2018 to 2020. At both, I hired and trained agents.

From the permit counter to the final walkthrough

Working with homes taught me how a project really comes together. Buying and selling put me close to the decisions people make about where they live. Remodeling and new construction meant taking plans through approvals and into a finished building.

That experience stayed with me. HiberTec is a new kind of home, but it still has to work as a home.

West Adams

In 2015, I bought a fixer property in West Adams, Los Angeles, with two partners and brokered the purchase. I co-designed the new duplex with Aaron Brumer, who is now HiberTec’s lead architect, and we sold it in 2018.

Before, design and after: the original fixer, our first design rendering and the finished duplex, with white walls, dark vertical cladding and a roof terrace.

Cheviot Hills, Los Angeles

In 2016, I bought a Spanish estate in Cheviot Hills, Los Angeles, with two partners. I supervised the full rebuild, and it sold 10 months later.
